About The Chaum

Korean eatery

Located at 110 Davis Rd, Martinez, GA 30907, The Chaum operates as a korean restaurant serving Martinez in Georgia. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Martinez, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Georgia run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (706) 305-9444. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 147 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded korean restaurants in Martinez.

Martinez is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Martinez follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Soft tofu stew wasn't bad for the price, though I would have preferred fewer, bigger, and better quality seafood than the quantity/quality they had. Seafood in it was very small and some shellfish had sand in them. I think it's a good restaurant to try Korean food if you've never had it. The stew didn't come out boiling hot, kimchi wasn't spicy, and they offer American soda.

Excellent Korean food options. They require a bit of self-service, so you might ot be familiar or comfortable doing that--bit it is simple and easy to do; don't let that stop you from trying them out. Beef was tasty and the spicy pork was very good. Kimchi options were also very tasty and not overwhelming in their fermentation. This is a nice sit down experience where they don't require you to tip (it wasn't even an option when I paid with my card). Give them a try!

Decided to try out The Chaum for lunch. For my entree I went with the bulgogi combo which comes with beef bulgogi, steamed rice, glass noodles, vegetable side dishes, and soup. I also ordered the Korean chicken gangjeong on the side. The combo meal itself was solid. Main problem was the bulgogi was a little over cooked, and ended up more dry and jerky-like rather than tender and juicy which lessened the flavors you’d expect from the marinade and takes away from the overall meal. The soup I received was also served to me cold. Side dishes and the glass noodles however were prepared well. The Korean chicken gangjeong was very good and the highlight of the visit. It comes as lightly battered chicken bites and rice cakes covered with a very delicious soy garlic butter sauce. Pricing is pretty similar to other Korean places nearby. You order from a digital kiosk like a fast food establishment so employee interaction is kept at a minimum which can make it hard to get help or proper customer service. Overall, despite a couple misses, still had a decent visit. Maybe they had an off day, or this is a side effect of prioritizing a quick service format. Would definitely try the chicken appeti

Heard there was a new Korean place that served spicy chicken. So, of course, I had to come here. First time we came the chicken was all sold out and I cried in the parking lot. This time they made extra so we had some. I ordered the spicy chicken and the wife ordered the mild. Extremely delicious! Reminded me of the time when I lived in Korea. Definitely coming back.
